Mahathir Mohammad Career :
- Mahathir Mohammad belongs to a middle class family of Malaysia whose father was English teacher.
- Japan attacked on Malaysia when he was in the school age.
- After school Mahathir Mohammad went to Singapore and admitted in university of Malaya.
- He got the medicine degree and return to Malaysia in 1953.
- He appointed as the government medical officer. Mahathir Mohammad resigned after some years and started
his own clinic in his home town Alor Setar. - Mahathir Mohammad had interest in politics from early ages and he joined UMNO(United Malays National Organization).
- He made his position in the party soon and elected as the member of Supreme council.
- Mahathir Mohammad elected as the member of parliament from UMNO platform 1964.
- Later on he wrote a book in which he criticized the policies of PM of that time “Abdul Rahman”.
- As a result PM banned his book and UMNO expelled him from the party.
- He reinstated in the party in 1972 and elected as the member of parliament and senator in 1973.
- Mahathir Mohammad soon became the Deputy Prime Minister and then the Prime Minister of Malaysia in 1981.
- As a prime Minister he made his position in the hearts of people with his fair decisions and policies for his country.
- Mahathir hold office for more than two decades from 1981 to 2003.
- Mahathir Mohammad Retired on 31 October, 2003.
- He wrote many books after his retirement.
- Mahathir again came into politics after announced him as the candidate of prime minister in the elections of 2018.
- He founded his own party Malaysian United Indigenous Party which he later on merged with Pakatan Harapan coalition.
- He is the chairman of Pakatan Harapan coalition.
- Mahathir Mohammad again elected as the prime minister of malaysia on 9 May , 2018 by defeating
his opponent Najib Razak.
