- Wasim came to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for trials. But for the first two days he did not get a chance to bowl. On the third day, he got a chance; his performance convinced Javed Miandad and he was become part of Team.
- Wasim Akram started his ODI career against New Zealand in Pakistan in 1984,At that Zaheer Abbas was captain of Pakistani Team.
- Wasim Akram made his Test cricket debut against New Zealand in 1985. In his second Test match, he got 10 wickets.
- In 1992,Pakistan won the world Cup,In FINAL match wasim was Man of the Match.
- Akram won 17 Man-of-the-Match awards in 104 Tests during his career.
- Wasim won 22 Man-of-the-Match awards in 199 ODi’s.
