Early Activism:

• During his student years at Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Siddiqui rose to prominence as the chairman of the All Pakistan Muttahidda Students Organization (APMSO) in 1989.

Entry into National Politics:

• He entered national politics by winning a seat in the National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-169 (Hyderabad-III) in the 1990 general election, representing the Haq Parast Group (HPG) associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

• Following his election, Siddiqui was appointed as the Federal Minister for Industries and Production in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s federal cabinet from July 1997 to August 1998.
