Who is Narendra Modi ?
Narendrais an Indian politician serving as the 14th and current Prime Minister of India since 2014. He was Born to a Gujarati family. Modi helped his father sell tea as a child and later ran his own stall in Gujrat.
Narendra Modi Biography:
- Modi was appointed general secretary of the “Gujarat Lok Sangharsh Samiti”, an RSS committee coordinating opposition to the Emergency in Gujarat in 1975.
- He was elected organizing secretary of the BJP’s Gujarat in 1987.
- He rose within the party and was named a member of the BJP’s National Election Committee in 1990.
- Modi promoted to BJP general secretary (organisation) in May 1998.
- On 3 October 2001 became Chief Minister of Gujarat.(Rajkot – II )
- He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014.
- In 2014,BJP Nominated Modi’s Name for Prime Minister and he won election and became 14th Prime Minister.
- During his premiership, India rose to the 100th rank in the 2018 Ease of Doing Business ranking by World Bank
