Biography of Sardar Hasnain Bahadar Dreshak
Sardar Hasnain Bahadar Dreshak is a senior Pakistani politician affiliated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He belongs to a prominent political family of southern Punjab and is the son of seasoned politician Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak.
Born in Lahore on June 29, 1974, Dreshak completed his Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in 1996.
Political Career
Sardar Hasnain began his political journey in the 2002 general elections, winning a seat in the Punjab Assembly as an independent candidate from PP-248 (Rajanpur-II). He served actively during his tenure, focusing on development issues in his constituency.
In the 2018 general elections, he was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from PP-294 (Rajanpur-II) under the banner of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). His popularity in Rajanpur largely stems from his efforts to address local infrastructure, agricultural, and law enforcement concerns.
On 27 August 2018, he was inducted into the Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, initially without a portfolio. Shortly after, on 6 September 2018, he was appointed as the Provincial Minister of Punjab for Livestock and Dairy Development.
Controversy
In September 2018, Dreshak and his family were accused by the Deputy Commissioner of Rajanpur of interfering in the transfers and postings of Revenue Department officers and personnel of the Border Military Police. However, no formal action or legal proceedings were pursued against him publicly.
