Abdul Hafeez Sheikh is a Pakistani economist and politician.
He has held various positions in the government, including Finance Minister of Pakistan, Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning in Sindh, and advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue.
Sheikh has served multiple terms as a member of the Senate of Pakistan.
He has degrees in Economics from prestigious universities such as Boston University, Stanford University, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Sheikh’s academic career includes teaching at Harvard University and advising several countries on economic policies.
He authored a book on Argentina’s privatization program.
Sheikh’s political career began in 2000 when he became the Provincial Minister of Sindh for Finance and Planning.
He has been affiliated with various political parties, including Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Sheikh served as the Federal Minister for Privatization in the Musharraf government.
He resigned as Finance Minister of Pakistan in 2013.
