• On December 20, 1983 Johnny Depp married Lori Anne Allison, the sister of his band’s bass player and singer. His wife introduced him to actor Nicolas Cage, who advised him to pursue an acting career.
• Johnny started his career with the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984.
• Johnny  became a popular teen idol during the late 1980s, when he starred as a police officer role in the Fox television series 21 Jump Street, which premiered in 1987.
