The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday (2 Aug 2018) convicted Talal Chaudhry after finding him guilty of contempt of court .
He was sentenced to imprisonment till the rising of the court and imposed fine of 100,000 ( RS ) under the article 204 .
Talal is ineligible to contest election for the next five years and hold any public office.
The Supreme Court had taken suo motu notice on February 1,2018 of his anti-judiciary remarks . The verdict in the case was reserved on July 11,2018, .
The decision was announced by a three-judge bench headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed.
Talal Chaudhry can challenge his conviction in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
